it happens sometimes that i’m asked if i’m not afraid to get killed. well, my usual response is that if one succeeds in it then all my problems will instantly be eliminated for ever, but the one’s problems will only begin for a long time to come, wishing to be in my place instead. thus, i’ve got nothing to worry about.
controlling own mind is no different from controlling own body, the same electrochemical processes, but controlling mind has less limitations.
statistics shows that religious people live in average longer, fact, but their net time spent on bs (bad science) dwarfs any gain, thus it is not benefit for life but a waste of life. stupid people are happier, sure, but if better is to be stupid to live longer is everyone’s choice. as one has said: “the fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one”.
